Exhibit #1:
This painting captures the artist’s impression of an April day by a pond at Giverney. The expanding Wisteria buds extend from the unseen Japanese Bridge in Monet’s water garden. The painting uses many advanced watercolor techniques to communicate details that range from these buds to the distant weeping willows that reflect in the water. The artist particularly worked with details of light and shadow to communicate that motion of the twisting wisteria branches. The artist’s references were various photographs that she took while escorting her workshop group through the rainy gardens. The artist’s is widely known for her watercolor painting.
