I believe that all serious Woodturners love a challenge; I know I do. And it seems that we are constantly searching for a new idea that, hopefully, has not been done before. Such thinking is what got me to pondering the concept of combining two forms to make one. Since I enjoy turning both hollow forms and square bowls, I reasoned, why not combine the two? In other words, create a square form with a hollow form at center. This is how the form you see here was ‘born’. This piece is particularly pretty standing alone on a coffee table, or when fitted with appropriately-scaled dried flowers. Either way, its originality makes it a sure conversation piece. |
