Gestalt Psychotherapy is a dynamic, holistic, creative collaboration between myself and my clients. The work is experiential, observational, and in-the-moment. The session is considered a microcosm of the client’s ongoing behavior in the world.
Gestalt uses elements of Eastern mindfulness practices, psychodrama, client-centered therapy and body awareness experiences. Gestalt is a humanistic, wellness-based model. Any difficulties or issues may be addressed. Symptoms may be emotional and/or physical. The work is used for problems as well as personal growth.
People usually enter therapy because they feel stuck in one or several areas of life. Their old ways of responding do not adequately meet what life is now presenting. Gestalt Therapy provides the client with new levels of awareness and experimentation with new behaviors within a safe and healing relationship.
What you can expect from a commitment to this therapy: more ease and vitality, better communication and relationship to self and others, more bodymind awareness, transcendence of old ineffective patterns, clearer perception, and a sense of possibility. In short, a life with more authenticity and aliveness.
My psychotherapeutic work is informed by 20-plus years as a licensed massage and bodywork professional, as well as a lifelong study of yoga, movement and Eastern philosophy. I have a deep respect for each individual’s inherent healing process.
