Africa

by Michael Domino

Africa

Seed of humanity.
Riches of the world,
stolen away.
Cultures untold and
scattered like wind.
Precious gems and souls mined and
ground to dust.
Earths perfect portrait, then;
darkened canvas.
Pride invaded.
Bones broken and feeble.
Abandoned puzzle pieces.

Baby born anew; but
lost from Mother.
Tries to walk.
Crawls through the dust.
Take our hand.
